Keep coparenting messages clear
Pickup times, a school decision, a medical appointment. A dated message avoids the « I told you ».
This page does not say who has custody. It says how to keep the exchanges readable, without making them sharper.
A clear message still reads six months later: the time, the place, the reply. The thread is not a hearing room.
A message you can reread in six months
Time, place, who picks up. One sentence is enough. Skip the hint only the other person understands. In a year, you will not understand it either.
The time
Written, not implied.
The place
Which one, not "over there".
The reply
Even a short one shows it was seen.
Texts and chats are saved in different ways. The text guide: print your messages.
Write as if someone will open the thread later: the day, the time, the place. A feeling without those three is hard to reread.
When the time changes
The new message does not replace the old one. Both stay, with their dates. Do not delete the first to « update » the thread.
The full copy is in keep a dated copy.
When the time changes, a new message says the new time. You do not edit the old one so it looks as if it always said that.
Keep this in view
If the disagreement lasts
A dated copy helps you tell a sequence of facts. It does not set where a child lives, or the holidays. For that, the frame is a mediator, a lawyer, or a court already involved.
If messages turn harsh, the nearby page is save harassing messages, with the same limit: a copy, not a staged scene.
If the disagreement lasts, a dated copy is enough to reread. It does not say who is right. The method: keep a dated copy
In the message
Reread, not win
This page helps you keep a sequence you can read. It does not build a strategy.
If the disagreement lasts
Make the copy, put it away, and talk to someone who knows your situation if you need to. Do not send one more message in order to "have it on record".
The message
Time, place, reply.
The change
A new sentence, not an old one rewritten.
The copy
For rereading, not for provoking.
Find the line, then the book
The time and place already written are in the thread. You flip through what is there.
Search
The word, the name. You land back on the bubble.
The time
The message's time, not the screenshot's.
The book
To reread, in your hands. The PDF is included. The outcome is decided elsewhere.
In the app, a word or a first name is enough to find the bubble. Every message keeps the date and time from the chat. You choose where the book starts and where it stops, then you flip through the preview. Photos stay on the page. A voice note or a video opens from the QR code. The PDF comes with the book. The book is for holding the conversation and rereading it. It does not say what a court, a consulate, a bank or an insurer will do with it.
Common questions
Do I keep everything?
Keep what sets a time, a place, a decision. The rest can stay on the phone.
Should I match the tone?
A short, factual message rereads better later. Writing back to have the last word makes the thread harder.
Does a PDF settle a conflict?
No. If the disagreement lasts, a mediator or a lawyer says what follows in that country.
Should you keep everything, including the argument?
The file can hold it all. To find your way, note the messages that set a time or a place. You do not add a sentence in order to have the last word.
