Seller chats for a refund
A parcel arrives damaged, or a seller promises a refund that never comes. A dated thread helps you tell the order of events.
The card or platform deadline is not hiding in the chat. Check it with them.

Keep the seller's promise, your description of the problem, and their reply. If you sent a photo of the item, it belongs to the thread. Do not rewrite their lines.

The deadline lives somewhere else
A bank or a platform often sets a number of days for a return or a disputed charge. That number is not in the seller's message. Open the terms of the service that took the payment.
If nothing was delivered and they still ask for money, stop and read a scam in the chat. This page is about a purchase that happened.
The platform form has its own deadline. The chat does not extend it. If it has passed, the PDF does not reopen it.
Reread without adding anything
Export before you change phones. Leave the thread in the app. A PDF helps you show the sequence to someone, without a promise that it will be accepted.

What should I keep besides the messages?
The order confirmation, photos of what arrived, and the tracking number if there is one.
The seller asks me to delete the chat.

Does a PDF replace a claim?
No. The claim goes through the platform, the card, or their rules.
Is the deadline in the chat?
Sometimes a date is written there. The rule lives on the platform. You read both. You do not invent a third.
