Save work messages about bullying
Work messages that humiliate, isolate or threaten can be kept, if they are already on your phone or in a chat you are allowed to use.
Do not take files the rules forbid you to remove. Then HR, a staff representative, or a lawyer, depending on the country.
You can keep what is already on your phone, because it was sent to you. This page does not explain how to take the employer's files.

Do not take what is not yours to remove
A bulk export of the server, other people's folders, access you do not have: that is not a « backup ». It can put you at risk. If the boundary is unclear, ask an adviser first.
Do not add messages. Do not change the times. The page on harassment outside work has the same rule: a copy, not a staged scene.
Do not take a file from the server, a shared inbox, or a folder the rules say you may not remove. Being useful does not make it yours to take.

Common questions
Can I copy the whole company mailbox?
No. Stay with exchanges that concern you and that you may legitimately keep. The rest often belongs to the employer.
Should I tell the person?
Not necessarily right away. An adviser may ask you to keep a dated copy first, without alerting them.
Is a PDF enough to raise it?
No. It is a way to read. Raising it happens with the people who handle that where you work.
Can I copy the work inbox?
Only if you are allowed to, and under the rules of that place. An export of messages already on your phone is not a copy of the company system.
